High Flyers Summer Program Just because school’s out doesn’t mean your need for childcare during the day changes. To better serve those families with year-round needs, the High Flyers Summer Program is open Monday-Friday from 7:45 am-5:00 pm, and runs from June 12th through August 18th, 2023. Caring for children ages 3-12, our staff is trained to keep your children safe while implementing engaging activities during each day. Lessons are planned around a theme for the summer, and guest visitors are invited to share their expertise in a variety of topics for “on-site field trips”. We want the children enrolled in our program to experience God’s love and to learn about Him in a way that will stick with them for the rest of their lives! |
Erin Albers – Director After being the children’s librarian at the Caribou Public Library for 7 years, Mrs. Albers joined the Little Eagles team in May 2022. Erin primarily takes care of the many administrative duties of the center, but often assists in the classrooms when regular staff are unavailable. Her family has a sheep farm in Monticello that keeps her busy when she’s not at LEP. She also shares her love of music by singing and playing the piano at her church, United Baptist Church of Littleton. |

This is her third year here at Little Eagles, and she is already planning what is in store for next year. When Summer is not working, you can find her at church playing the flute or singing, out around town shopping, or hanging out with family and friends. |

Brightwheel is an app/website that helps us with many aspects of our childcare center. We use it for checking students in and out, communicating with parents via messages, and sharing the highlights of the students’ day on a running “feed”.
Since our implementation of this system, we have already noticed the first of many benefits - SAFETY! Parents are assigned a 4-digit code which is used at the tablet kiosk to check their child in to the program. The same code is used to check them out at the end of the day. This way, we can look back to see when the child was present and who took them from the site very easily. Emergency contact information as well as a list of adults approved to pick up the student is available to all staff members using the tablet assigned to each classroom. No child is allowed to leave with anyone not listed as an “approved pick up”. Medical safety is also improved, as teachers can see allergy and other significant notes regarding the child in his/her profile by using the same tablets.
Staff are encouraged to add photos or notes regarding crafts, activities, or incidents during the day on each child’s feed, which is accessible to the parents on the brightwheel app. We can also record developmental milestones that a teacher has observed in the classroom. The goal is to help each parent be more connected with what their child is experiencing on a daily basis!
Brightwheel also allows us to communicate with parents easily with the use of the app’s messaging system. Messages can be sent from a parent to our staff, or vice versa. When a message comes in, all staff can view it, preventing miscommunication or messages not being given to the right caregiver. Teachers can also send messages directly to an individual parent or a classroom as a whole, making quick responses possible even if parents are unavailable to take a phone call!
We are still discovering the many features which brightwheel has to offer.
Here at High Flyers we believe every moment is an opportunity to learn and grow. Whether we’re engaging in play, creating art, or participating in a game - each activity is thoughtfully planned out to make the most of our time with your child.
You can have peace of mind knowing that, not only are they being cared for, but they’re also being engaged with and ministered to as well. We pride ourselves on using a custom-made curriculum created just for us that incorporates S.T.E.A.M activities, games, crafts, videos, and devotionals to enforce this year’s theme: OUTER SPACE!
Serving students up to 12 years of age, the High Flyers team has restructured the program to allow for great age-appropriate activities and more opportunities to connect and engage. The participants are separated into three groups based on maturity: High Flyers Junior, High Flyers, and High Flyers Elite throughout most of the program between 2:30 and 5:00 pm. Our afterschool program is more than just a place for your child to wait around while you finish out your workday, it is their next adventure of the day!
What is it?
Little Eagles Daycare & Preschool offers a preschool program for children 3-4 years old. Our school serves families in the greater Houlton area and is designed to help your child grow in a positive, Christian, learning environment. Academic, social, and motor skills are addressed in a play-based, teacher-directed, Bible-based curriculum for children.
A licensed childcare center, Little Eagles offers year-round services Monday through Friday with child drop-off as early as 7:45 a.m. and pick-up as late as 5:00 pm. The educational piece of our day usually takes place in the morning, as we do offer a limited number of part-time slots for children to attend Tuesday-Thursday from 8-11:30am at a discounted rate.
Our Mission
Our mission is to instill an early love of learning and to offer students a safe place to develop individually. Our vision is to serve as a school that nurtures, challenges, and encourages students in their unique gifts and abilities to attain their highest potential for God’s glory. Our core educational values are:
Our Learning Environment
Learning at Little Eagles Preschool is purposeful but fun! Here, students will learn through individual and group play, circle time, and one-on-one time with staff.
A typical day at preschool includes free play at our learning centers, circle time that includes pledges, weather exploration, an introduction to a letter of the week, numbers, shapes, colors and opposites. We focus our time on a theme for each week and have a segment that includes stories and lessons from the Bible. The preschoolers also participate in music, physical education and chapel. Good habits and manners are also integrated into all we do each day.
Our learning centers, which include blocks, fine motor skills, puzzles, playdough, sensory, dramatic play, and many more, provide opportunities for exploration that reinforce what we teach each week.
Our Trademark
We at Little Eagles have the special privilege to care for and teach your child in a positive Christian environment! Our program is designed to meet your family’s needs whether it be only a 3-day educational experience or full-time 5-day daycare that includes education as a bonus! Introduce your child to a solid biblical and academic foundation that will complement what you are teaching your child at home.
