GHCA'S GREATEST FUND-RAISER

Greater Houlton Christian Academy is a pre-Kindergarten through grade twelve private Christian school of over 190 students. See the menu on the left for all the details concerning our history, philosophy, and mission.

The objective of the Bike-a-Thon is to find individuals and organizations willing to sponsor volunteer bikers participating in a variety of bike courses and other activities. All sponsorships are tax deductible. This year we have a goal raising of $40,000.

LAPTOP INITIATIVE

As you may know, GHCA has recently announced its Laptop Initiative for the 2008-2009 school year. Our Bike-a-Thon team is coordinating with this initiative to make student-friendly laptops available to all who participate this year! This opportunity is even available to younger students!

The Asus Eee PC that we are offering is a $300.00 value. If you collect $500.00 in pledges you will receive $150.00 credit towards this laptop. Collect $1,000.00 in pledges and you will receive a FREE laptop in your choice of five colors! Anyone who exceeds the $500.00 level but falls short of the $1,000 will still receive an additional $20.00 credit for each additional $100.00 raised. Please note - all pledges and additional payments must be received before laptop is ordered (June 20 deadline).

Grand Prize

Win a Disney World Vacation worth $2,500! We're talking the full deal - airline tickets, lodging, theme park tickets, and transportation! We'll even customize the package to your needs! Here's how it works. The winner will be picked from a random drawing. However, you may have more than one ticket in the barrel! Raise $150 in pledges for your first ticket. Every $100 additional will put another ticket with your name into the barrel. You can really increase your odds of winning this amazing vacation package!

Other Top Prizes

1. Nintendo Wii game system with $50.00 prepaid credit card

3. $150.00 prepaid credit card

The top two students in raising sponsors will each be given a $100.00 prepaid credit card.

Class Incentive

The top fundraising class in the elementary and secondary will receive a pizza or ice cream party. This is met by the class with the highest average $ raised per student. In addition, each class that reaches the goal of $300.00 times number of students will also receive a pizza or ice cream party.

School Incentive

If the whole school raises our overall goal of $40,000.00 in pledges by May 21, the Memorial Day weekend will be extended through Tuesday. In other words, a four-day weekend during the nicest part of May!!

THE BIKE COURSES FOR THIS YEAR (All rides finish at the school)

• Tour De Pitlock 100 Miles - 7:00 a.m.
• Tour De Haynesville 60 Miles - 7:00 a.m.
• Tour De Limerick 33 Miles - 8:00 a.m.
• Tour De Hodgdon 10 Miles - 9:00 a.m.
• Tour De Walk-A-Town 5 Miles - 9:00 a.m.

OTHER EVENTS

1. Starting at 10:00 a.m. at the finish line, there will be balloons, plenty of free food and drinks, and lots of goodies.
2. Bicycle Obstacle Course from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
3. The Ball Drop from the big ladder fire truck will take place at 11:00 a.m. with many prizes. Prizes from previous years have included duffle bags, back packs, fishing poles, and much more!
4. The Spaghetti Supper, including a special movie of the day's events, starts at 4:30 p.m.
5. Awards will be presented at 5:30 p.m. during the supper.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Complete the registration form and waiver available at GHCA. Return it to us with your $15.00 registration fee for the first family member and $10.00 for every family member thereafter (make checks payable to GHCA). We will send you a packet of information, including a pledge sheet and a map. Last-minute (the morning of the ride) registrations cost $20.00

We encourage you to gain as many sponsors as possible, and if possible, collect the pledges before the day of the bike-a-thon. It is important that after the bike-a-thon is over, quickly collect and turn in pledges to the school.

When completing the registration form, be sure to list your shirt size and the route you will be taking. All participants will receive a Bike-a-Thon T-shirt.
