GHCA'S ANNUAL FUND

PURPOSE OF THE ANNUAL FUND

The Academy's Annual Fund provides funding for student tuition aid, to purchase new technology, and to maintain and operate the Academy's educational facilities.

Tuition and fees do not cover the full cost of educating a student at the Academy. Every student, today as in the past, receives a "hidden scholarship" which comes from gifts and donations. In fact, tuition covers just 65-70% of the operating costs of the Academy. Tuition is kept at an affordable rate because the geographical region the Academy is located in is recognized and often described as "an economically depressed" part of northern Maine. As such, for the maximum number of students to receive the greatest benefit of a quality traditional education, the Academy has established a reasonable tuition rate of $3,290 per student. The GHCA Annual Fund, therefore, provides critical school support.

GIVING TO THE ANNUAL FUND

Anyone can give to our Annual Fund. In the past, parents, alumni, Board members, staff, grandparents and friends of the school have participated in meeting these special needs. Whether you are tied to the school or not, you may be wondering what benefit there is in giving to our annual fund. Your contribution:

• promotes a strong academic program based on traditional moral values.
• provides a strong financial base for the school to pursue programs and expansion that allows our students to reach their maximum potential.
• is an investment in a young person's life, who educated in Greater Houlton Christian Academy's tradition, can positively affect the lives of thousands. Some of America's greatest leaders came from small rural areas.
• ensures that families continue to have a high-quality, Christian alternative to our secular public school systems, at a tuition they can afford.
• is tax-deductible!

FUNDRAISERS AND EVENTS

GHCA offers many fundraising opportunities throughout the school year. Whether it is a spaghetti supper, collecting soup labels, an auction, or our annual Bike-A-Thon, you can participate! We can always use volunteers to help run these events, and we invite the entire community to participate them! Frequent our website often to learn when these fundraising events are coming up
